Life Care Plans

At Missouri Independent Medical Evaluations and Missouri Life Care Plans we have a dedicated Life Care Planning team. Life Care Planning benefits people of any age that will require long-term care related to injury, disability, chronic illness, or the aging process.

The Life Care Plan looks at the current and future needs of the patient and lays out the necessary actions that will maintain and improve quality of life related to a catastrophic event, injury, disability, chronic illness, or the aging process.

Long Term Care

Long-term care consists of a variety of services which help meet both the medical and non-medical needs of people who cannot care for themselves. Long-term care is focused on individualized and coordinated services that promote independence, maximize quality of life, and meet a patient’s needs over a period of time or a lifetime.

Long-term care may require custodial care in a skilled environment such as a nursing home or other long-term care facility. Long-term care generally includes non-skilled care such as assistance with normal daily living like dressing, meal preparation and eating, using the bathroom, housekeeping, and lawn care.

Our Process

Our assessments begin with a comprehensive records review and an independent medical evaluation (IME) by a licensed physician with over 20 years of practice experience in the field of Emergency Medicine. We assess the medical, psychosocial, environmental, and physical needs of the patient.

Through this experience Dr. Mullins has treated and continues to treat illness and injury across the spectrum and the life span. His training, skill, and knowledge cover a wide breadth of disciplines including orthopedics, neurology/neurosurgery, and pain management.

Further, Dr. Mullins has specialized training to the standards dictated by the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment and is rich in experience of the IME, having completed thousands of examinations.

When appropriate, we will make a home visit to assess the physical and emotional environment of the home, documenting our findings within the report.
