About Us

Missouri Independent Medical Evaluations was originally founded in 2004 by Dr. Shane Bennoch. In 2011, Dr. Mitchell C. Mullins and Leslie Mullins, RN became our new owners. Since acquiring MIME, we have grown to become a vibrant and reputable source for independent medical evaluations and development of life care plans.

Since becoming the owner in 2011, Dr. Mullins, Leslie, and the MIME team have worked with hundreds of attorneys from across the United States, including Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Texas. Most cases are in Missouri, including Springfield, Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbia, Joplin, Branson, West Plains, and many small towns in between. We have performed thousands of independent medical evaluations that have been used for individual reports and life care plans for patients as young as three years old to adults in their eighties.

Leslie Mullins RN

Leslie Mullins BSN, RN

Leslie began her journey in healthcare in 1998 as a Family and Patient Advocate in the Emergency Room at St. John’s (now Mercy) Hospital. She saw first-hand how the devastation of catastrophic life events impact patients and their families, as well as the long-term consequences of living with impairment. These patients became “regulars” in the Emergency Department as they battled chronic pain, illness, and psychological distress.

Leslie graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing through Southwest Baptist University as a board-certified registered nurse in 2005. She began her nursing career as psychiatric evaluation nurse through Mercy’s behavioral health department until 2014 when she became a Nurse Manager, leading three departments including the intake center, Clinical Services, and Mercy’s Addiction Recovery Center. She resigned her position in 2018 as Interim Director of Behavioral Health.

In 2016, Leslie began coursework for Life Care Planning certification, completing this in 2017. She has been a constant member of the MIME team since 2011.
